It's that time of the year again: summer is ending, the days are growing darker, and it's pumpkin season at Trader Joe's!
I saw some familiar TJ's products from last year, and more excitingly, some new offerings! I am not ashamed to say that I stood in front of TJ's pumpkin aisle for about 10 minutes as I debated internally which purchases to try.
I guess the simple answer would be to try everything, but I do not have a budget to keep in mind...otherwise, Trader Joe's would bleed me dry.
You can bet twice that when I saw Trader Joe's Pumpkin Pie Cookie Butter, I did not think twice to throw it in my cart. I was so ecstatic at my new discovery that I did not hesitate to take a picture. I'm sure fellow shoppers thought I was a lunatic.

I am sure this would also be delicious on waffles, cookies, toast - really, anything your heart desires.
You can find the Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter for $3.69.
Trader Joe's Assorted Belgian Chocolate Pumpkins: I saw this on the shelves but actually didn't try it. I know, I know...why feature something in my blog if I cannot vouch for it? I just thought the packaging was adorable: because look! Chocolates in the shape of pumpkins! If you want to try it for yourself, they are available for around $4 a box.
I saw Trader Joe's Pumpkin Seed Brittle last year, but didn't actually make the plunge to try it. I sure did not want to forgo it this year. And I am glad I purchased it, because it's very good! The Pumpkin Seed Brittle is not as sweet as I imagined it to be, and is certainly abundant with pumpkin seeds and pumpkin flavor.
Trader Joe's actually packs quite a lot of brittle for the low price of $3.49. I was very surprised that it came with so much brittle! The package was bigger than my hand.

You know that sensational, exuberant feeling when you taste something so incredibly delicious that you can't believe it exists?
I think Trader Joe's Mango Sorbet might be something that emits that feeling for me.
Whenever I saw TJ's Mango Sorbet in the freezer section, I never thought twice about it. In my mind, it would be some watered down, sugary ice that wasn't worth the caloric intake.
One day, I got the opportunity to try it a la Trader Joe's sample bar.
(Let me take this opportunity to extoll the wonders of TJ's sample bar. I absolutely LOVE their sample bar. I know sometimes little old ladies and insufferable young kids take advantage of the sample bar, where they grab grubby fistfuls of white sample cups without actually intending to purchase anything, but that doesn't make it any less wonderful. Whenever I stop by a TJ's, I make it a point to have a sip of their coffee with soy milk, and to eat whatever delicious concoction they decide to grace their customers with that day. By the way, I have decided that TJ's coffee is pretty much better that Starbucks.)
I was strolling by a sample bar when I spotted TJ's Mango Sorbet. Since it was a sample, it was a no brainer that I scoop one bite up.
When I bit in, I was amazed. The mango flavor bursted on my tongue. This sorbet was rich in texture, not at all icy tasting, and just the right about of sweetness. The sorbet reminded me of mango desserts on Hong Kong - Hong Kong folks LOVE the taste of mango - which I find very admirable of TJ's capabilities. I no longer have to schlep all the way to Hong Kong for a suitable mango dessert! I can have the fresh taste of mango desserts, right from my local Trader Joe's!
It was so good that you bet that I went back for a second sample. And perhaps a third.
If you're a fan of mango, definitely do not hesitate to purchase Trader Joe's Mango Sorbet! It can be found in the ice cream/dessert section for $4.49 per pint.

Aside from trying goods from my favorite grocery store, one of my favorite hobbies is traveling. While working at a full time job does not enable me to travel whenever I want -- because whenever I want would be every single day --, I am lucky enough to get to travel occasionally. I find great joy out of visiting a foreign country and immersing myself in new cultures. And of course, trying all the new food! Towards the end of last year, I was lucky enough to be able to visit a destination I've always wanted to see: Paris, France.
I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day! While I believe that partners should celebrate and show their love for each other other than one day a year, I have to admit I love getting showered with extra TLC on this day. I'm lucky enough to have someone who supports my obsession for Trader Joe's, and who is thoughtful enough to surprise me with products that he knows I haven't tried yet.
Enter...TJ's Chocolate Lovers' Collection!
I love all things salted caramel-flavored; ice cream, macarons, you got it! So when I spotted Salted Caramel Gelato in Trader Joe's freezer aisle, I knew I just had to have it. I knew if it tasted anything like Trader Joe's other desserts, it would be quality.
I absolutely adore creme brulee. I love the texture, the taste, everything about it - except for the hefty price tag. At $5-$10 dollars for a serving of creme brulee (at your average restaurant/bakery), it's certainly not a very cheap dessert! And creme served in your grocery's freezer aisle typically need a torch, not something everyone has handy in their kitchen. I certainly don't.
Enter, Trader Joe's and their creme brulee.
I love summer. I love everything about it. Hot weather, longer hours where the sun is hot, sundresses and bikinis. The only thing that softens the blow of the transition into fall/winter is pumpkin-flavored items...specifically, pumpkin items at Trader Joe's!
I recall last year, I was so excited about all the new pumpkin releases at Trader Joe's that I spent $50 on items I wanted to try out. The cashier even remarked, "wow, there's only one thing here that isn't pumpkin-flavored." Yep. I'm always impressed by the items that Trader Joe's rolls out every fall. While I didn't go nuts on pumpkin items this year like I did last year, I wanted to showcase on some noteworthy items I did purchase:
