Review: Trader Joe's Herb & Garlic Sirloin Steak with Chimichurri Sauce & Chimichurri Fried Rice
9:00 AM
One of my favorite things about Trader Joe's is their meat selection. I like that they have a variety of ready to cook meats, marinated and all, so it is minimal work for me.
When I spotted Trader Joe's Herb & Garlic Seasoned Sirloin Steak with Chimichurri Sauce (boy, ain't that a mouthful), I knew it was one I wanted to try.
This bag was about $13~, about $9/something per ounce. There is also a sauce packet inside with chimichurri sauce. |
Plop the steak (4 pieces in my case) on your stove top and grill for 5-6 minutes each side |

I opted for Trader Joe's Peruvian Style Chimichurri Rice, to match the taste palate of the steak.
In retrospect, I should have probably went with some pasta. The heavy flavors of the Herb & Garlic Sirloin Steak needs to pair with a blander carb, not with something as flavorful as TJ's peruvian fried rice.
However, that is not to detract from the deliciousness that is their fried rice!
It is also very easy to prepare. Cut open the package, put on some sort of cooking mechanism, and add 2 teaspoon of water.
In about 4-5 minutes, you will have a delicious side to accompany your favorite protein.
Yum! |
Here is a side by side close up of the two food products. Yum! |
You can find Trader Joe's Peruvian Style Chimichurri Fried Rice in their frozen foods aisle for $2.99. And it serves 2 people - what a bargain!

Have you tried making the chimichurri rice with the TJ frozen langostino tails? So good together
ReplyDeleteI have never tried! But that sounds DELICIOUS. I will definitely check it out next time I am at TJ's (:
