Recipe: DIY Green Tea Iced Latte

5:48 PM

I am a huge fan of Starbucks' Green Tea Lattes. However, at nearly $4 a pop (for the smallest size), it can become a pricey habit. So I embarked on a mission to find out how I could replicate my own green tea latte at home.

It turns out, it's extremely simple! All you really need to make one of these babies is green tea powder and milk (it can be regular, soy, almond - whatever you prefer). It's so insultingly uncomplicated that I definitely do not want to overpay for a Starbucks-made one ever again.

Ingredients
1 Magic Bullet
1-2 tablespoons of green tea powder (purchased at asian specialty stores or online at Amazon here)
1 cup of almond milk
Frozen banana (optional; I did this to make the latte more filling and nutritional)
Organic Agave Syrup at your discretion (optional; available at Trader Joe's)

Instructions

Add in approximately 1 cup of almond milk into your Magic Bullet or blender

Add in one frozen banana (pro tip: your banana will blend better if you cut up your banana into small pieces at first)

Add in 1-2 teaspoons of green tea powder, depending how strong you'd like your green tea latte to be

Ready to blend!

Blending...

And blending!

Lastly, feel free to add in a small amount of agave sweetener. This is optional, but I find that a little bit of sweetener goes a long way to bring out some flavor!

I hope you enjoy your Green Tea latte! Please let me know how you like it in the comments below.
